Frugal Charity Giving

Now I know that frugal charity giving sounds a bit odd and even a bit greedy and selfish but read on it really isn't.

I have had a nectar card for ages now and use it to save money on my shopping at Sainsbury's, which really does help out a lot especially at Christmas time. Collecting the points is so easy, I use mine every time I shop at Sainsbury's, buy petrol from Sainsbury's petrol station and submit my monthly gas and electricity meter readings to British Gas. Every time I do this I get more points and they soon add up.

So now to the charity bit.

I am always giving things I no longer need to my local charity shops and so I was thrilled to find out that Oxfam are funning a scheme whereby you can give your things to their shops and collect Nectar points too,. Not only that but the Charity benefits even more by receiving 25% extra on their sales from the government via Gift Aid.

This is a win win situation for all and something I am passionate about. So come on lets spread the word and sign up. You will receive 100 nectar points just for signing up.

All you have to do is to register your details and nectar card online and Oxfam will send you tags to attach to your items when you take them to the shop. Then for every £1 they make on your items you receive 2 points.
