I am definitely going to try this out for myself. I have never thought of using up pasta this way and often throw away the excess which I always seem to make. This is great two meals out of one.
I will have to make a tomato sauce with perhaps quorn mince to replace the meat sauce you mentioned as we are vegetarians. But this is easy to do and I always have quorn mince in the freezer.
I would imagine that this pasta pie would also be good cold and eaten with a salad or added to my partners lunch box. It would make a lovely change from his usual wrap and sandwich.
I mentioned this recipe to my friend who looked at me as if I was mad. She even turned up her nose and said that it was funny idea to make a pie from spaghetti. Unfortunately she is a little staid in her cooking and I am doing my best to convince her to be a little more adventurous.
Perhaps I’ll make the dish and take some over for her to taste, I just know she will like it and who knows this recipe may become a regular favourite amongst my friends. Now all I have to do is sell the idea to my sister (who constantly moans about what to cook on a budget).
