Something recipe - Have you ever had your kids come bug and bug about "what's for dinner????" Of course you have! And what did you tell them, especially when there's almost no food in the house? "Something!" Well that is how this recipe was named. It should feed six to eight, depending on how much your family eats! (For us it feeds six.)
Frugal recipes - Ingredients
2 cans tomato sauce
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 pound any ground meat, meat chunks, whatever is on hand
4 cans various canned veggies OR 2 bags frozen veggies (whatever is on hand)
Season to taste
Cook the meat in a deep skillet or pot (unless it's leftover meat, then you can skip this step). Drain and put back into the pot.
Add the tomato sauce, tomatoes, veggies, and anything else you want to toss in. If we've got extra laying around, I'll even chop up an onion and toss it in there.
Cover and simmer for about twenty minutes, until heated through.
Enjoy!
(This is cheap, easy clean up, and surprisingly good! We serve up with biscuits if we've got 'em to make this stretch even further!)

Excellent suggestion for a hungry family, thank you for sharing your quick and simple recipe.
I must admit I do something similar I use quorn mince meat as we are vegetarians; unfortunately quorn is not that cheap. But by adding lots of tinned beans or vegetables it does go a long way and can be used for two evening meals and a side dish for my lunch.
We tend to eat this either with rice or with a salad. I quite like your idea of serving it with biscuits; perhaps I could use this idea for my lunch as I often get fed up with the same old thing for lunches.
