Shop at a garage sale

Why not shop at a garage sale. If your into saving money than what better way than to shop at a local yard sale. On just about any given weekend you can find a local sale with kitchen appliances, furniture, clothes, kid’s toys, and tons of random useful stuff at great bargain prices that you would never be able to get at the store.

Garage sales are also a great way to make some extra money too. I often go and find great mid range designer clothes or retro lamps or other ephemera which I then sell on eBay.

I have made quite a bit of money doing this occasionally but I would imagine that if you were serious about making some extra cash you could take this idea a little more seriously and try to make some sort of full time job at.

This is not as silly as it sounds, the retro scene is back with a vengeance and even the most mundane of everyday object from the past can be seen as a desirable item. Garage sales provide a heap way to get into this area. Now you may not be finding silver art deco statuettes but you could find old comics and annuals, kitchen bits and bobs and fabrics from the past and all at low prices.

You’ll be amazed at what I have found and sold on, silver plate teapots, old Disney character mugs, coloured glass vases and old film cameras. They all have a market on the internet and yes you won’t be making a fortune from them but it all adds up over time.

Now you also don't have to run to the paper to find this information tanks to the digital age you can go to sites like: http://www.garagesalestracker.com and find a sale by you. So use the tips you find on frugal-living and get cracking!
