Reusing 2-liters and egg cartons for gardening.

by Melissa
(Bozeman, MT)

Hello,

You can use old egg cartons for seed starters. Simply detach the two sides and use the top for a water catch. They space seedlings perfectly and are a great way to recycle!

To make your own greenhouse effect for starting seedlings, you can A) cut the bottoms of two two-liters and fit them over the egg carton seed starter you just made. Just tape the ends together to insure a seal. Or B) Cut the bottom off a two liter and use as a water catch under a small pot and fit the top over the pot for the greenhouse effect.

Happy planting!
