Papier Mache Gift Bowls For Chrismas

When i was a kid I loved making things from Papier Mache. Now my kids too love to play with it. i thought since they did not have any money for gifts to gift to family or friends i would help them make some papier Mache bowls for them to decorate and give as gifts.

All you need is some wall paper paste
newspaper
plastic picnic bowl
paints

Cover the bowl in some Vaseline so that the paper doesn't stick and can't be removed.

Cut the newspaper into strips and dip into the wall paper paste, then smooth over the bowl in random layers. When the bowl is thick enough, leave to dry for about a week.

Then gently remove the inner plastic bowl and let the children pain the paper bowl.

They could even put some sweets inside and wrap them up to give as gifts.

Love this idea and I love Papier Mache, always have. One of my strongest memories as a child was making papier Mache pots and painting them.

Although it can be a little messy (which the kids will love), it is really a cheap activity for children.
