You know how eventually after a few years and many washings...mattress pads get thin & worn down in the middle. Don't throw the pad away until you cutout the middle...use the good portion (edges) as filling for pot holders, oven mitts, bath mats for baby. Use blanket binding around the baby bath mat...embroider a design or leave plain. That is what I've done in the past.
