Uses for a Hair Spray.

Hairspray is more versatile than you may first think. If you think about it hair spray is  a sort of glue designed to hold hair styles in place. This means that it can also be used in other situations where a non permanent glue is required.

Do keep in mind that hairspray is flammable, so please make sure you do not spray near a naked flame and do not place items you use hairspray on near flame.

I have gathered these frugal tips for other uses for hair spray which I hope you will find useful. If you have any other suggests for other uses please let me know and I will add them to this list.

Artists Fixative – You can by fixatives from an art shop but it costs a lot of money. if you want to keep your Childs pictures from smudging etc you can spray Childs pastel and pencil drawing with a coating of hair spray.

Run Stopper – getting a ladder in your tights can be both a pain and embarrassing but you can prevent it from getting worse if you are unable to change them by spraying the area around the ladder with hairspray. it stiffens the fabric and acts a bit like glue, preventing the ladder from running further.

Flower Extender - To make cut flowers last longer spray the underside of the leaves with a light coating of hair spray. This does not extend the life of the flower perse but it prevents the petals from drooping.

Needle Threader – It can be tricky to thread a needle but if you spray the end of a piece of cotton with hairspray it will stiffen it so that it is easier to thread.
