I have been scouring flea markets and used furniture places for a couple of weeks now and have managed to buy quite a few really unique presents for my family and friends. In addition I have picked up a few treasures for myself! I have found also that most vendors at flea markets will lower their prices. I make an offer and usually they agree!
I have wrapped them up as soon as I buy them and this way will avoid the last minute rush to get things wrapped in time for Christmas. The less stress the better!

It's that time of the year when graduation invites start to drop through the door and you start to worry about what gifts you should buy and more importantly what can you afford.
here are some tips on some frugal graduation gifts that won't make you look cheap.
1. Make up a little box full of useful everyday items (especially useful if going to college and living on campus) such as batteries, pens, shampoo, soap, cleaning clothes, envelopes etc. You can decorate the box to look nice too.
2. Gift certificates are always good, books, music, video the list is endless. many stores offer gift cards now which can be recharged at a later date.
3. If the student is going on to collage then a supply of paper, pens, pencils, highlighters, correction fluid, staplers etc will always come in handy.
4. What about buying a subscription to there favourite magazine for a year. this will help them save money during their first year out of school too.
