I love a good party and celebrating with friends and family on birthdays is one of my favourite things to do, but it can be expensive. However by following other frugal living friend’s advice about how to have lots of fun on a budget I always manage to hold parties that do not break the bank.
Christmas can be one of the most difficult times to save money whilst still enjoying the holiday. What with present buying, house decorations, food buying and preparing it can all add up to one big financial headache in January.
But there are always ways to cut costs without looking like a skinflint. For instance we haven’t had a real Christmas tree in our house for many years. Instead we invested in a good quality imitation one which once decorated with shiny balls and lights still pleases everyone in the home. If you like the smell of pine needles then there are always Christmas candles available in the dollar shops at this time.
We want to hear your ways of saving money at celebrations. I know there are some very creative and ingenious people out there who will have some great ideas to share. No matter how small a saving or how strange you might think it is, let us know. As a frugal community nothing is off limits.
So if you enjoy having parties and are one of these frugal fun savers who can do it on a budget why not share your frugal living tips with us here on frugal living tips.
