Cheese Ball

Cheese Ball 
Ingredients

Recipe instructions:

2 cups of shredded Cheddar cheese
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp. sour cream or mayo
Dash onion salt, garlic salt, celery salt, parsley walnuts

Instructions:

Combine cheeses, mayo, Worcestershire sauce and seasonings. Blend until smooth. Cover and chill until firm. Shape into ball. Roll in chopped walnuts. Serve with crackers

These sound great. I think I have seen them for sale in the supermarket at Christmas but have never bought them because they were always so expensive. Anything a little bit different always seems to cost more.

These little balls of cheese would be wonderful for parties and celebrations as they will look rather special. However they would also be good to pop in a chilled lunchbox or picnic.

Party food can be tricky to organise if you want to want something a little bit more special than the usual crisps, sandwiches and sausages on sticks. The party food available to buy always seems very small on portion sizes and at the same time very expensive for what you get.

I remember my mother trying to make some party food look more exotic when i was a child by placing small cubes of cheese on a stick with a cube of pineapple and a small pickled onion. They were delicious but not exactly the height of sophistication.

I think I will try these little balls of cheese the next time I have a gathering of friends round. I may do some with the walnuts, some plain and some with a coating of crushed cheese and onion crisps. The variety of them on the plate will look great and very expensive. Little will they know that it is another wonderful frugal recipe from this frugal community?
