Before packing a suitcase or a trunk, leave an open top tin filled with litter inside overnight. Also if you cat has urinated someone in your home, sprinkle some litter over the spot and leave for a few hours. The litter should absorb any remaining smells in the area. This is important because this will prevent your cat returning to that area to urinate their again.
Oil absorber - Sprinkle litter over oil puddles and other spills on the garage floor. Leave until the fluids have been absorbed and then sweep it up.
